'Hand's-on' workshops

Do you have a group that:
  • Is interested in some hands-on cooking, with the chance to enjoy the fruits of your labour?
  • Fancy trying some cooking but unsure where to start?
  • Have lost interest or confidence in your cooking skills and need inspiring?
  • Would like to learn some new cooking skills?
With our microwave based mobile kitchens, we can provide the opportunity for small groups to try their hand at some tasty and interesting, yet quick and simple recipes.
As well as good food cooking skills our courses can also address other issues e.g independant living skills, energy saving cooking, eating well on a budget, local food sourcing etc.  -  we always rise to the challenge of new opportunities!

Examples of recent sessions:

  • Cramlington Learning Village - For the past two years we have worked with students in the sixth form who will be leaving the school this year.  Working within the enrichment timetable we have delivered independant living skills through  our hands-on cooking activities.
  • Norcare- We delivered our 'I-Skills 4 Life' independant living skills course with adults who were homeless and socially or economically excluded
  • Homes for Northumberland - We worked in two sheltered housing units to deliver our four week  'Eatwell 2 Livewell' courses
  • Fired Up! - For the past four years we have worked with Northumberland Fire Service delivering a healthy lifestyle day to the young adults on their programme.
All that we require is space, tables and
electric points and we can supply the rest.

" Good value, practical advice and information given to older, more vulnerable tenants.  Also encouraged social interaction of tenants to help decrease social isolation to meet our objective of improving quality of life and improving health and well being.

Very good event, participants enjoyed it and gained a lot.
